Jennifer speaks about her TEDx Talk
The Secret to Getting Anything You Want in Life; it’s all about putting yourself out there and becoming vulnerable. We can overthink all the reasons why we shouldn’t do certain things, versus taking the plunge and going after that exact thing. We can really talk ourselves in or out of what we want. Make the shift and go after what you want.
You don’t have to succeed 100% of the time. The more you swing the bat, the higher chance you have to hit the ball. Think about what you failed at recently, and how you learned from it. Keep failing and failing and failing. Most people don’t even show up – showing up will give you the upper hand in every situation.
Self-doubt and fear will hold us back.
People are scared of rejection. Jennifer says to think about how you get better at something – it is all about practice. If you practice a skill, then you are going to get better at it. If you’re fearful about putting yourself out there, then that’s what you should be practicing the most.
Jennifer asks for something every day – you never know if you don’t try! Plus, sometimes we don’t get what you want; it’s actually a blessing in disguise. As we all know, when one door closes, another one opens. You may not see it right away, but you’ll find out later on.
Also, Jennifer tells the story about asking something of Keanu Reeves. People thought she was crazy! You can’t trust anyone – if you’re passionate about something, you need to be committed and stay focused. To hear the entire story, make sure to watch Jennifer’s TEDx Talk.
Later, Jennifer explains why slow and steady wins the race.
Nothing happens overnight; changes happen in stages. When making a significant change, you should involve loved ones in your approach. People will have pleasure in another person’s misery – it helps make them feel better about themselves. As you grow and change, maybe you need to find other people who are also growing.
Stay tuned as Jennifer describes why we need to put ourselves first, the importance of discipline, and how we can retrain our mindset. Plus, Jennifer tells us all about her podcast, Habits and Hustle.
