We are neurochemical beings. In order to lose weight, have great energy, and prevent disease you have to have your nervous system and chemical system in balance.

Anytime you get stuck with your health, go back and ask yourself “Am I doing everything I can to balance these two systems.”

When it comes to burning fat and losing weight, if you want to succeed at it, you have to approach it like a chemistry experiment. If you ever took chemistry in school, you know that there had to be an exact balance of each chemical in order for the experiment to turn out right.

Well, guess what? If you want to get your body in a fat burning zone, you have to do the same thing.

You have to treat your body like a chemistry experiment. Through your food and exercise choices, you are trying to get the exact right balance of chemicals in your body.

There are three very specific chemicals you are trying to balance: Insulin, Cortisol, Growth Hormone

Here is a short list of how you balance these chemicals:

1. Insulin

Stop eating sugar or anything that turns to sugar. Add more good fat into your diet. I can’t emphasize this combination enough. Many people think they have pulled sugar out of their diet, but they still aren’t losing weight. Breads, pastas, alcohol, juices, and excess protein can also turn to sugar so make sure you have pulled ALL of these out to get you in the fat-burning zone.

2. Cortisol

Stress is the major contributor to this one. But for many, handling stress is hard. So stop focusing on managing stress and start focusing on managing cortisol. There are several ways you can balance your cortisol levels:

  • Daily movement of any kind: walk, hike, swim, etc.
  • Chiropractic adjustments – the fastest way I know to get your adrenals balanced again.
  • Adaptogens – these are key herbs and nutrients that balance cortisol in your body. Best adaptogens I know are the ones we use in our office,  Maxfit and Thyroid Reset.

3. Growth Hormone

Unfortunately, our bodies stop producing growth hormone after the age of 30. Growth hormone burns fat and slows the aging process. There are only two ways you can increase your growth hormone after the age of 30: build more muscle or do high-intensity interval training.

There is an art to getting your health back in balance. Keep working the principles I am teaching you. They work, I promise! With enough time, repetition, and energy your body will begin to heal.
