This episode is all about mastering the metabolic approach to cancer and COVID.
Dr. Nasha Winters, ND, FABNO, has been on a personal journey with cancer for the last 27 years. Her quest to save her own life has transformed into a mission to support others on a similar journey. Dr. Nasha travels the world to explore integrative cancer clinics, vet cancer protocols for research projects, speak at conferences, and meet with colleagues to help them apply metabolic approaches with their patients.
In this podcast, we cover:
- How a healthy cell will turn into a cancer cell
- The metrics to determine if you’re in the middle of a Cytokine Storm
- The importance of melatonin on the immune system
- How we can pull ourselves out of fear from COVID
- About mastering the metabolic approach to cancer and COVID
- The importance of teaching people how to eat again
- Utilizing fasting even with a cancer diagnosis
A lot of people are looking for a single target to treat their cancer. However, that implies there is a single cause of cancer. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. There is no single cause or one treatment for cancer cells. Ultimately, there’s an accumulation of events, toxins, insufficient metabolic processing, and false environments that factor into cancer cells.
Twenty percent of people who get COVID will have problems. We need to examine why twenty percent of the population is having these issues. The virus is just a messenger. Use COVID as an opportunity to think and do things differently. It’s time to find out how metabolically flexible you are and the state of your immune system. The reason people are suffering from COVID is because of a Cytokine Storm.
How do you know if you’re in the middle of a Cytokine Storm? There are seven questions that you need to ask:
- How high are your neutrophils?
- Are your lymphocytes too low?
- Are your platelets too high?
- Is your LDH too elevated?
- Do you have liver disease?
- Are you over the age of 52?
- Do you have a poor ECOG score?
When you look at the people who succumb to immunity-forward cancer therapies, they will have such a bad experience with cancer treatments because of the Cytokine Storm. These seven things are not being talked about. Instead, people are terrified of COVID. When, in reality, twenty percent of the population should be focusing on these metrics.
Plus, Dr. Nasha explains how we can master the metabolic approach to COVID and cancer. In fact, Dr. Nasha has her own version of the CDC: Circadian rhythm, diet, and community. It’s time that you get back into rhythm with nature and inspire your community to get healthy. This approach is free and available to everyone. To reset your circadian rhythm, go to sleep when the sun goes down and wake up when the sun is up. Also, being outdoors will help stimulate your melatonin levels.
Whether it’s cancer or COVID, there’s a tendency to point our fingers outward. When in reality, we should be thinking about how we can be better on the inside. You have to take an honest look at your diet. 88% of Americans are metabolically broken. Are you unsure about your metabolic status? Look at these factors:
- Insulin levels should be under 5
- Hemoglobin A1c should be under 5
By nature, we should be able to wait for our next meal. However, it’s so easy to eat these days. If you can’t go for more than four hours, that’s a sign that you are not metabolically flexible. Instead, we need to push ourselves to eat less frequently. If you cannot do a thirteen-hour fast, then you are most likely metabolically broken.
Stay tuned as we talk about prioritizing health, fasting with a cancer diagnosis, and Dr. Nasha reveals what she would tell a former version of herself.
Dr. Nasha’s message for the world is if you ignore your health, it will go away.
