Hanna dives deep into her story and how she found out about her Type 1 Diabetes.
Back then, Hanna didn’t know about keto. She could have saved a lot of pain and suffering if she knew about the keto lifestyle. Instead, Hanna ate 60% of carbs with every meal – she ate whole grains, skim milk, and fruit. It turns out, the medical professionals were utterly wrong about what people with diabetes should eat.
When Hanna switched to keto, it was a whole world of difference. She is finally giving her body the nutrients that it needs. Her wakeup call came when Hanna was studying nutritional education. The professor told Hanna that she doesn’t produce insulin, so she needs to think about what she puts in her mouth. Hanna started to lower her carbohydrate intake. Eventually, Hanna noticed that her blood sugar was much more stable.
There are two ways to manipulate the blood sugar, one is through the diet, and the other is through fasting.
Instead of fasting, Hanna eats when she is hungry. She says that individuality and care are essential. Every day, Hanna does intermittent fasting – between sixteen and eighteen hours. She only eats lunch and dinner. Eating this way makes her feel happy and full; she doesn’t need more than that.
Hanna explains how certain vegetables can play a role in blood sugar. Going full carnivore helps with Hanna’s blood sugar. Whenever she gets insulin resistant, Hanna brings out the carnivore meals. If you notice you don’t feel well after eating, you can use carnivore meals as an elimination diet to test what works best for you.
Plus, Hanna dives deep into her Hashimoto’s diagnosis and eventual healing. The body goes through waves of healing; Hanna believes that our bodies can self-heal. When we take food out of the occasion, our body can heal itself. Things that have nothing to do with nutrition will also help improve your body. Hanna says that she uses yoga, meditation, and hydration to help with her healing.
Stay tuned as Hanna speaks about her self-protection routine to enhance her positive mindset. Plus, Hanna gives the scoop on Low Carb Universe.
Hanna’s message for the world is that there is always something that you can do to improve your situation!

Thank you for this podcast! I’m listening to it about 3 years later but it answered so many questions I had as a Type I diabetic with fasting and my blood sugars.
