Drew reveals what it was like to gain and lose seventy-five pounds on purpose. He learned that we are all more than our bodies. However, we attach our body image as our self-image. What we don’t think about is that our bodies can change. It took Drew going through his FIT2FAT2FIT experience to learn that he is more than his body. When Drew started to eat healthy again, it was shocking how his body would fight back against him. Drew says it’s essential to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. He’s not a runner, but he set out to run 100 miles. We all have self-limiting beliefs, but we never really test the waters because we are so comfortable being comfortable. First, he failed and only ran 80 miles. So, Drew trained for seven months with Zach Bitter. Using keto and fasting, Drew was able to accomplish 100 miles in twenty-four hours. 2020 is the year of radical change. So, Drew is going through his second FIT2FAT2FIT journey. On Drew’s first FIT2FAT2FIT challenge, he was a lot younger and a different version of himself. This year, Drew is turning 40. He feels like he can make a more significant impact this time. Now, he has a clearer image. It’s not about an experiment for himself; it’s about getting his message across for the world. Drew wants the fitness industry to focus on empathy rather than judgment. It’s time to get away from the scale and the idea that we need to look a certain way. Instead, we need to love the body that we are in. Fitness is so much more than weight loss and weight gain. We shouldn’t be all about the results; instead, we need to focus on the journey. Once you love the process and love yourself, you’ll start to do the process regardless of the results. In the end, you will get results from loving the journey. Stay tuned as we talk about the phases of Drew’s second FIT2FAT2FIT challenge, how he is navigating mental health during this time, and the tests that Drew is undergoing during his journey. Drew’s message for the world is that you are worth it to operate at a place from self-love instead of self-hate.
