🥑 Italian Guac Recipe

I’m absolutely thrilled to share a special culinary treat that unfolded on my YouTube cooking show recently. Guess who joined me? The incredible Marie Forleo! Together, we whipped up a sensational twist on a classic favorite — guacamole. But, this isn’t just any guac; it’s what Marie has affectionately dubbed “Italian Guac.” Let’s get into it!

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 Large Ripe Avocados: Depending on your crowd. Two usually suffice!
  • Fresh Basil: A generous handful, finely chopped.
  • Small Organic Cherry Tomatoes: Opt for multi-color baby heirlooms for a sweet taste and vibrant look.
  • Limes: Squeeze at least one per avocado for that zesty kick.
  • Salt: Just a pinch, to taste.
  • Garlic: One large clove, minced, for a touch of warmth.
  • Red Onion: Finely chopped for a crisp, sharp addition.

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Avocados: Halve, pit, and scoop the avocados into a large bowl.
  2. Mash: Use a fork or potato masher to get your preferred texture.
  3. Add Lime: Fresh lime juice is key for both flavor and keeping the avocado vibrant.
  4. Mix in Aromatics: Stir in the minced garlic and chopped red onion.
  5. Fold in Freshness: Gently incorporate the cherry tomatoes and chopped basil. Handle with care to keep those tomatoes looking beautiful.
  6. Season: Salt to taste.
  7. Serve: Present the guacamole in a dish, garnished with basil. Ready to enjoy!

Serving Suggestions:
Perfect with tortilla chips, toasted baguette slices, or as a refreshing veggie dip.

Nutritional Insight:

Loaded with healthy fats from avocados, and rich in vitamins from tomatoes and lime, this guac is a true nutrient powerhouse.
