Is the FLU SHOT helpful or harmful?

Nobody likes getting the flu. Days lost from work,  body aches, night sweats, none of that is fun.

But does getting a flu shot guarantee you will avoid getting the flu?

Here are two very important things you need to know about the flu shot.

1. The flu shot doesn't work well.

One very reliable way to determine the effectiveness of the flu shot is to look at the database analysis presented by The Cochrane Collaboration, an independent group of scientists who have no link to any industry or government agencies.  After analyzing all of the data on the flu shot, they have concluded that it really doesn’t work well.  It doesn’t even cover most of the influenza infections that people get.

2. It contains harmful chemicals like Mercury

Here’s one dirty little secret about the flu shot: it contains mercury.  Most of the flu shots that are administered in the US are from multi-dose vials, which contain multiple flu shots in one little vial.  To preserve it, they add mercury or Thimerosal.  A cumulative dose of Thimerosal over your lifetime could have a negative impact on your health, because mercury is a known toxin.  It causes immune problems and neurologic problems like dementia, memory issues, and other issues.

There is mounting evidence that flu shots can cause Alzheimer’s disease.  One report shows that people who received the flu vaccine each year for 3 to 5 years had a 10-fold greater chance of developing Alzheimer’s disease than people who did not have any flu shots.

So what can you do to protect yourself against the flu?

Here are TEN STEPS you can take to avoid the flu.

1.   Eat fresh, organic fruits and vegetables with every meal
2.   Get 7-9 hours of sleep every night
3.   Get regular chiropractic adjustments (research shows 200% stronger immunity with adjustments)
4.   Take a food based multi vitamin daily
5.   When around sick people, increase your Vitamin C to 2000 mg/ day & your Vitamin A to 5000 IU's a day
6.   Take a Vit D3 5,000 IUs daily
7.   Take a probiotic daily (50 billion CFUs)
8.   Avoid sugar, alcohol, and chemical laden foods
9.   Exercise 3-5xs a week (preferably outside with sunlight on you)
10. Stop stressing (stress is one of the largest suppressors of the immune system)

I promise you the above steps work! I have been practicing these steps for years now and haven't had the flu in over a decade. I see the same with patients who follow this protocol. If you know that get the flu every year and you want to minimize your toxic load and try a new natural approach, be sure you are doing all ten steps.

Hope that helps! Reach out if you have any questions.

Cheers to a strong immune system!
