Why you can’t stop eating sugar
Well it happens.
You have the best intentions of eating healthy through the holiday weekend, but you didn’t succeed.
You now are not only mentally beating yourself up, but you physically feel horrible.
I know. I’ve been there. I spent years living in a body that didn’t feel great. I had a sugar tooth that controlled my every move.
And the holidays only made it worse. Social gatherings, See’s candies (I loved the Bordeaux’s!), and temptations were everywhere. I remember thinking “If only I could crave health as much as I crave sugar”.
Knowing that the body isn’t born craving sugar, I knew that something else was at play. Something in my body had my sweet tooth out of control. This launched me on a search to understand WHY the body craves certain foods. Especially sugar.
Here are 3 strategies I learned to stop my sugar tooth:

Candida is a condition where a fungus is growing in your gut. Yep, you heard me right. It’s gross to think about, I know. But this fungus wants to stay alive. And it lives off sugar. So it makes you crave sugar to feed it.
There are many different strategies for killing this fungus. I wrote about some of them in The Reset Factor Kitchen. Once you kill Candida, you will be amazed at how your sugar craving stops.
2.Stabilize your blood sugar-
When you blood sugar goes low, you will crave sugar. How do you stop your blood sugar from going low? Eat more good fat.
Fat is a superior source of fuel. It will give you energy for a longer period of time. When you eat a diet that is low in carbohydrates and high in good fat, you will notice that your energy stays consistent all day long. You won’t have the highs and lows in energy throughout the day. When you avoid the lows, you lessen your sugar cravings.
3. Repair your adrenals-
Your adrenals give you energy during stressful times. But for many of you, your adrenals are burnt out. Exhausted, in fact. They can no longer keep up with the amount of stress you have given them.
I give you several strategies for adrenal fatigue in The Reset Factor Kitchen as well. There are also some specific ways you know that you your adrenals are burnt out: dizziness when you go from sitting to standing, waking up at 2am, crashing at 3pm, and craving sugar.
Strengthen your adrenals and your sugar cravings will diminish.
