Are you DEPRESSED? - Dr. Mindy Pelz


More people are suffering with depression, anxiety, and insomnia than ever before.

Antidepressant prescribing has risen nearly 400% since 1988, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

We now have more than 1 in 10 Americans over age 12 taking an antidepressants.

What the heck is going on? Are we a more depressed society?

If you have followed my emails and articles at all, you know that I am focused at getting to the cause of people’s health problems. If we are going to improve the health of our country, we need to stop medicated symptoms and start addressing what is causing them.

So, what would CAUSE so many people to suffer from depression?

In my experience, there are three main causes of depression, anxiety, and insomnia:

1. Damaged gut

The gut produces neurotransmitters that make your brain function normally. If you have more bad bacteria than good bacteria, you will not produce the right amount of neurotransmitters. I have seen this scenario quite often with patients that we do our biomarker test on. Issues like low serotonin and dopamine uptake will show up on this test, along with large amounts of bad bacteria and yeast.

Without the proper neurotransmitter balance, you can have waves of depression and anxiety that hit you for no particular reason. I hear this from many patients often. They tell me there is no logical reason they are feeling depressed and anxious. It’s a physiological problem, not a mental one.

2. Toxic overload

There are certain toxins that enter your bloodstream and attach to receptor sites in your brain. The main toxins that do this are heavy metals like mercury and lead. Where would you get heavy metals from? Amalgam fillings, flu shots, our even in your drinking water.

Research is also showing that heavy metals can get passed down to you from your mother and grandmother. It is said that lead will pass through four generations.

There are simple tests you can do to know if you have heavy metals in your system that may be leading to your depression and anxiety. There is also a easy protocol you can follow to remove those metals. I will be teaching those to my community at the next RESET DINNER on May 5th, so make sure you are there.

3. Imbalanced nervous system

You have two nervous systems. One that speeds you up and one that slows you down. For many people with anxiety they have overdeveloped the nervous system that speeds them up. They can’t seem to get that system to relax.

The fast way to balance these systems out is through a chiropractic adjustment. Many of you have experienced that after an adjustment. There is a sense of calm, feeling lighter, and more peaceful. That is the rebalancing of your nervous system.
