Trouble retrieving your words? Short-term memory loss? Trouble sleeping? Anxiety for no reason? Unable to focus?

These are symptoms that are becoming more and more common in my practice.

For years, my protocols focused primarily on imbalances that occurred in the body. Yet recently, I have had to put more focus on the brain. Primarily because symptoms are changing in people today. Just like changes in technology have advanced quickly, so have the stressors on your brain.

What modern day stressors are damaging your brain?

Here are the top three that I see with my patients.

1.  Heavy Metals

I have written about this before. Toxic metals are accumulating in our environment at a frightening speed. Amalgam fillings, flu shots, polluted water, toxic fish, poor water sources, second-hand smoke, polluted air, and toxic beauty products are all exposing your brain to high doses of mercury, lead, aluminum, and thallium.

There are no safe doses of these metals in your body, let alone your brain.

SYMPTOMS these metals are creating?

  • Hormone imbalances
  • Memory Loss
  • ADD & ADHD
  • Insomnia
  • Weight loss resistance

SOLUTION: Get your metals tested. A challenged urine test will tell you exactly how much these metals have accumulated in your brain. We do this test often in my office. If you want more information on this test, call my office at 408-298-8092.

2. Blue light

Hopefully, by now you have heard that your computer, laptop, and smartphone all emit a blue light that is harmful to your brain.

There are two issues with the blue light from your technological devices.

One it stops the production of melatonin making sleep difficult. Melatonin gets initiated by your pituitary gland when it gets dark out. It tells your body that it’s time to wind down and go to sleep. When you are on your smartphone late at night it slows down the production of melatonin.

Second, blue light is currently thought to damage the mitochondria of your cells. The mitochondria produce energy. Many studies have been done on the link between chronic disease and damaged mitochondria.

SYMPTOMS of too much blue light exposure?

  • Insomnia
  • Anxiety
  • Memory loss

SOLUTION: Limit your exposure to technology two hours before you go to bed. There are also screen filters you can download to your phone or computer that change the blue light. The one I use on my computer is called Iris.

3. Postural changes

The greatest damage technological advances have made to the human body are to your posture. Forward head syndrome, text neck, sitting for long hours all are making permanent changes to your spine.

These spinal changes are causing an abnormal stretch on your spinal cord. This stretch sends a signal to the brain that the body is in a crisis. The brain responds by secreting cortisol and adrenaline.

SYMPTOMS of spinal cord stress?

  • The feeling of always being stressed out
  • Trouble relaxing
  • Chronic pain
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Chronically feeling overwhelmed
  • Insomnia

SOLUTION: The quickest way to relax your brain is with a chiropractic adjustment. When tension is taken off your spinal cord, cortisol goes immediately down and you get a burst of happy hormones.

Dementia is a term that is being thrown around a lot recently. And adverse changes in the brain are happening at younger and younger ages. Addressing the three major brain stressors I listed above will not only have a dramatic effect on your health today but will have a lasting effect on your health for years to come.

Hope that helps. Reach out if you have any questions.

Have an awesome day!
